Statewide Security & Fire Alarm Upgrade: Executive Auto Group

Auto Dealership Security

Executive Auto Group (“EAG”) is one of the premier automotive groups in Connecticut. With more than 10 dealerships across the state, EAG has been serving Connecticut residents since the 1970s. For over five years, EAG has trusted American Total Protection (ATP) to design, install, and service its Avigilon camera systems.

Recently, EAG expanded its partnership with ATP by transitioning all security alarm and fire alarm services to our team.

Security System Objectives

Executive Auto Group places a strong emphasis on the safety of its employees, customers, and facilities. Each dealership is equipped with monitored security alarms and fire alarm systems. However, before switching to ATP, EAG faced several operational challenges:

  • No remote management: Their previous security alarm systems could not be managed remotely. Adjusting user codes, schedules, or settings required on-site service calls.
  • High service costs: Reprogramming systems across multiple locations was expensive and inefficient.
  • Lack of centralized control: Each dealership was managed individually, making consistent oversight difficult.
  • Need for a local partner: EAG wanted a reliable, locally owned security provider capable of delivering faster response times and personalized service.

Security System Solution

ATP provided a streamlined, cost-effective upgrade across all Executive Auto Group locations. The previous systems—primarily Bosch panels—did not offer modern remote-management capabilities. ATP proposed upgrading the head end (control panel) at each dealership while keeping the existing field devices in place to control costs.

Key Components of the Upgrade:

  • New Control Panels with Total Connect: ATP installed modern panels compatible with Total Connect, a remote management platform developed by Resideo/First Alert.
  • Reuse of Existing Equipment: Existing security devices were integrated into the new system whenever possible, minimizing disruption and expense.
  • Unified Alarm Management: EAG can now oversee all locations from a single dashboard.
  • Fire Alarm Monitoring Takeover: At the same time, ATP inspected, tested, and took over the fire alarm monitoring for each facility, consolidating all services under one provider.

Results

With Total Connect and ATP’s centralized service model, Executive Auto Group now benefits from:

  • Full remote control of security systems across all dealerships
  • Ability to add/delete user codes, adjust schedules, and monitor activity
  • Real-time alerts showing who armed or disarmed a system and when
  • Simplified operations with one service provider for both security and fire alarms
  • Reduced operating costs and fewer on-site service dispatches
  • Improved security, visibility, and compliance across every location

Total Connect’s easy-to-use app and web portal allow EAG’s management team to control their systems anytime, anywhere—bringing modern efficiency to a statewide dealership network.

We were happy with our previous provider but we knew we could do better. ATP offered a solution that saved our organization time and money. Switching over that many stores had its challenges and ATP met them head on. They were fair and communicative throughout the process. We are very happy with our new systems and highly recommend American Total Protection to those considering making a change.

Customer service matters. When choosing a service provider for your home or business, it is important to understand the providers’ customer service capabilities. Does the company have a support team? Do they have an on-call technician if there is an emergency? Does the company make paying the bill easy? How hard is it to schedule service? We all want to support local and small companies. However, it is important that your local business can service your account in an efficient manner.
Fairfield CT Home Alarm System Upgrade: A Modern Retrofit
By Rence Coassin May 9, 2025
Homeowners choose to buy an alarm system for a variety of reasons—theft, robbery, life safety (Smokes and Carbons, etc.). Depending on the wants, circumstances, and the needs of the customer, ATP designs a custom solution. If a homeowner or business has an existing alarm, American Total Protection does its best to utilize the working devices and infrastructure. In many cases, we can use everything. However, some times the devices are too old (smoke detectors and CO’s have a recommended replacement date) or wireless devices can be encrypted. ATP has the knowledge and experience to design systems that utilize existing components where applicable in order to control cost.
