Giant Corporate or Family Run?

Giant Corporate or Family Run Security Company?

Do you want your home or business security systems monitored and serviced by a giant corporate entity or a family run operation? This is a conundrum. To be objective, there should be strengths in a giant corporation by comparison, but are there? Certainly their sheer size of marketing campaigns would speak of such financial muscle, but how does this equate when it comes to the end user? To me there are certain features that I want in selecting who I want to do business with.

Do You Want a Giant Corporate or Family Run Security Company?

ATP Alarms is a Family Run Security Company Serving Florida and New England - (888) 903-8803

Phone Calls: When I have an issue, is it reasonable of me to think that when I call their office, I would reach a human? When you call a corporate giant, one of the BIG guys, typically you don’t reach anyone at first, you have to push a sequence of buttons. While I enjoy automation in other circumstances, when I want to speak to someone, I don’t want to have to push all of those buttons. I like it when I call that number and someone in the company answers, a luxury not usually found with the BIG companies. At ATP there are no automated answer machines, and during business hours you can expect a person the actual office you called to answer and route your call. After hours our calls are routed direct to our central monitoring stations, six on the east coast. At the time of the call the operator either takes a message or live transfers the call to our emergency tech, with whom you will speak with and is available 24 / 7 to handle your emergency.

E-mails: Now when I send an e-mail to a company, what should I expect? Those big corporations have thousands of people there. Surely they should get right back to me right? Wrong, more times than not, these type correspondences fall into a vast void, you’re better of calling – see above, but wait a minute, “they’re always there” isn’t that what they say? Well they’re somewhere I suppose.

Having an A+ rating with the BBB and a short list of disgruntled clients is something that the Giant simply cannot boast about.

The equipment: There are many recognizable brands, why Honeywell? The answer is simple, affordable cutting edge quality. Honeywell is a Fortune 500 company and the spec’d equipment in most of the government buildings in North America too. But doesn’t the BIG guy sell Honeywell too? Sure, but to be an authorized Honeywell security dealer you have to meet certain criteria. Having an A+ rating with the BBB and a short list of disgruntled clients is something that the Giant simply cannot boast about. Don’t take my word, do a google search with their name and the word complaints after it. Honeywell will sell their equipment to any buyer, but they will authorize only those companies whom have met the above criteria in a positive light.

Honeywell is a Fortune 500 company and the spec’d equipment in most of the government buildings in North America too.

Price: Let’s face it, everyone wants a great price, and even more they want great value and if you’re like me you want it all. I want the quality of equipment, the expert service, the highly rated customer satisfaction, the ease of communication and a company with all of that wrapped into one.

Security alarms can communicate via internet (hardwired or WiFi depending on the system), phone line, or cellular. Often security alarms have two communication paths—one that is primary and one that is backup. ATP Alarms encourages all customers to have a back up form of communication in the event the primary fails. We believe that the best is setup for fast and reliable communication is internet/WiFi primary with cellular backup. We feel that the internet communication is the fastest while the cellular is most reliable. Traditional alarms relied on phone lines to communicate.
